Soccer Performance Trainer Vancouver
At NYA Strength & Conditioning, we want to create athletes that have full control of their bodies. An athlete that not only has the strength to compete against others but also can move fluidly across the pitch. We specialize in coaching athletes who are shorter in height or have a smaller frame on how to use their body most effectively on the field. Lionel Messi, N'Golo Kante, Alexis Sanchez, Marco Verratti, Andres Iniesta, what do all of these players have in common? They are all under 5ft7 (170cm). Smaller players must have a blend of elite technique and body control to play at the top level.
Our training programs are divided into two categories, soccer performance training and strength & conditioning. When you a register for a session with us, it can be solely a soccer performance session or a strength & conditioning session or a mix of both. Click below to see a breakdown of each type of session. |

Strength & Conditioning Training

Our aim is to develop strong athletes that move fluidly on the field.
Functionality
By teaching our body how to move as an entire unit, our movements become more efficient. This leads to explosiveness, fluidity, and strength. |
Stability
Building a strong core through strengthening the inner muscles in the the torso area and stabilizing the pelvis. This allows for elite body control and to withstand body contact. |
Flexibility
Increasing the muscle flexibility of the athlete allows joints to move fluidly in an appropriate range of motion. |
Performance Pyramid
When looking at a sports performance pyramid, the base and most important section is body control. Without being able to move your body how you want to, you will not be able to use your physicality or the skills for your sport.
The 3 pillars of body control are "functionality", "stability", and "flexibility. An athlete that can move their body in the exact manner they want to will be able to effectively use the other parts of the pyramid. |
Having The Ability To Properly Control Your Body
The 3 pillars of body control all work in harmony together. By training these attributes, athletes will quickly see an increase in their body control. Once athletes are able to move in an efficient manner, we start to see the desired traits of an elite athlete: fluid movement, explosiveness, and strength.
